Daniel Parente
Attorney - Partner
Mr. Parente is a founding partner of Callaghan Parente LLP. His main practice areas are Real Estate, Elder Law, Estate Planning, Estate Probate and Administration, and Business Formation and Continuity Planning. He is a frequent guest lecturer at the Long Island Board of Realtors (LIBOR), as well as other community groups, societies and associations.
Previously, he served as Trial Attorney at James G. Bilello & Associates for three years where he participated in all phases of litigation including court appearances, motion practice and trials in the area of personal injury defense. He conducted depositions, arbitration and mediation hearings.
As Executive Officer/Managing Attorney in the NYPD – Legal Bureau Civil Enforcement Unit he managed the unit’s daily operations, supervised a legal staff of 65 individuals including 5 deputy managing attorneys and 30 staff attorneys and assisted the NYC Law Department in the preparation of appeals.
As counsel and aide to New York City Police Department Commissioner he was an integral member of Police Commissioner’s personal and confidential staff. Among his duties were to review employee disciplinary cases and Equal Opportunity Employment cases and make recommendations to Police Commissioner, advise and brief the Police Commissioner on departmental issues and reports as well as governmental hearings and committee reports. He also served as counsel to the Police Commissioner’s staff.
